Arrival
On arrival at Marrakech Menara International Airport, once you have passed through immigration and retrieved your luggage, please look out for your Atlas Morocco trekking driver carrying a placard with your name, who will transfer you to your hotel or traditional Riad in Marrakech.
Briefing
You will be collected from your Riad at 8 a.m. and transferred to Imlil, where you will meet your guide. Your guide will do a briefing and check your equipment. There are shops to rent equipment in Imlil Center if required.

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech and Transfer to Imlil

Itinerary
Day 1: Imlil – Oukaimden High Atlas Mountains – Oussertk village.
From Imlil, you will be transferred to the Oukaimeden ski resort, passing through the beautiful Ourika valley, with its stunning landscapes and traditional Berber villages. Once you arrive at the ski resort, you'll meet your team and begin your trek up to the Oukaimeden summit (3200m). Along the way, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Atlas peaks and valleys. After reaching the summit, you will trek down to the town for lunch before continuing your trek up across Tizi n’Oukaimeden. This part of the trek follows a zigzagging path leading to Oussertk village. At the end of the day, you'll stay overnight at a Berber house in Oussertk village. This is a great opportunity to experience the traditional Berber lifestyle and hospitality.
Day 2: Oussertk village – Ikkiss – Tizi n’Ougerssioual – Agerssioual village.
After a good night's sleep at the Berber house in Oussertk village, you'll start your day with a hearty breakfast to fuel your trek. The first part of your trek today will take you down along the valley and through the forest to reach Ikkis village. This part of the trek will offer stunning views of the surrounding landscape, with plenty of opportunities to stop and take in the scenery. After reaching Ikkis village, you'll stop by the river for a well-deserved lunch break. After lunch, you'll continue your trek up to Tizi n’Agerssioual, which is located at an altitude of 1900m. From Tizi n’Agerssioual, you'll trek down to Agerssioual village via a single track. This part of the trek will take you through picturesque landscapes and traditional Berber villages, providing a glimpse into the local way of life. At the end of the day, you'll stay overnight at a guesthouse in Agerssioual village.
Day 3: Agerssioual (1550m) – Mattat – Tizi Oudid (2000m) – Id Issa village (1800m).
After a good night's sleep at the guesthouse in Agerssioual village, you'll start your day with a delicious breakfast to fuel your trek. The first part of your trek today will take you down to the river, where you'll cross the valley and begin your ascent up the beautiful Mattat valley. You will stop for lunch in the pass, under a juniper forest. This will provide a cool and refreshing break from the sun, and a chance to rest and refuel for the rest of the trek.
After lunch, you'll continue your adventure towards the Azzaden valley, an authentic and colourful valley with traditional Berber villages. You'll arrive at Id Issa village in the evening, where you'll stay overnight at a Berber house or camp. This is a great opportunity to experience the hospitality of the locals, and to rest and recharge for the next day's trek.
Day 4: Id Issa village (1800m) – Tamsoult waterfalls (2300m) – Tizi Mzik (…..) – Imlil valley (1775m).
After breakfast, you'll begin your trek by walking up the trail towards Tamsoult waterfalls. This is the highest waterfall in the Atlas Mountains, and the trek to get there will take you through stunning mountain landscapes.
After reaching the waterfall, you'll continue your trek down to Azib Tamsoult, a picturesque mountain village. From there, you'll make your way to Tizi Mzik pass, which is located at an altitude of 2485m. You'll stop for lunch on site, and enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
After lunch, you'll begin your descent down to Imlil valley. This part of the trek will provide even more stunning views over the valley and the mountains. As you make your way down, you'll have the opportunity to appreciate the natural beauty of the Atlas Mountains up close. You will arrive in Imlil in the afternoon, where you'll stay overnight at Dar Imlil.
Day 5: Imlil Valley (1775m) – Toubkal basecamp.
Today's trek will take you up along the Imlil valley towards Toubkal basecamp. You'll follow a mule path with great views over the gorges and streams, making your way towards the shrine of Sidi Chamharouch. This is a significant religious site, and a popular stop for trekkers on their way to Toubkal.
You'll stop for lunch on the way, taking in the stunning views of the surrounding landscape. After lunch, you'll continue on towards the Toubkal basecamp. This is a rugged and beautiful area, with impressive mountain peaks towering above you. You will arrive at the basecamp in the late afternoon, where you'll stay overnight at Toubkal Hut. This is a great opportunity to rest and prepare for your ascent of Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains, which you'll tackle tomorrow. Enjoy the natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere of the basecamp, and get ready for an exciting day ahead.
Day 6: Toubkal Hut (3207m) - Toubkal summit (4167m) – Imlil (1775m).
Today is the ascent of Jebel Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa with an altitude of 4167m. You'll start your day with an early breakfast around 4am, to ensure you have enough time for the challenging ascent ahead.
You will follow a tiny trail and a progressive walk until you reach Tizi n'Toubkal, which is where you'll see the Toubkal summit triangle for the first time. From here, you'll continue along the mountain ridge, making your way towards the plateau where the Toubkal summit is waiting for you. As you climb higher, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views over the valleys and the High Atlas Mountains peaks. It's a challenging and exhilarating trek, but the sense of accomplishment you'll feel when you reach the summit will be well worth it.
After taking a short break at the summit, you'll begin your descent back down to Toubkal Hut for lunch. From there, you'll follow the mule path down to the Imlil valley. This is a long day of trekking, and can take up to 10 hours depending on your pace. It's important to take your time and pace yourself, ensuring that you stay safe and comfortable throughout the trek. Once you arrive back in Imlil, you'll have the opportunity to rest and relax, reflecting on the incredible experience of climbing the highest peak in North Africa.
Option 1: Or transfer directly to Marrakech at the end of the trek after mint tea at the riad.
Option 2: Overnight at Dar Imlil and return to Marrakesh the next day.
Day 7: Imlil Valley, Marrakech.
After breakfast, transfer back to Marrakech.
Departure
A driver will collect you from your hotel around 3 hours before your departing flight and transfer you to Marrakech Menara International Airport, ensuring that you arrive there at least 2 hours before your flight departs. Please let us know if you'd like to be collected earlier.
