This tour is technically not difficult and you do not need any prior mountaineering experience, but you should be somewhat fit and accustomed to walking off-road. Good trekking shoes and a wind annorak are highly recommended in any season of the year. We will spend the night in the atmospheric Refugee Toubkal. You will love the cosy atmosphere around the big fire place where many travellers and mountaineers before you have met and shared stories, food, and addresses. Your guide, who is licensed and experienced, climbed the Toubkal for the first time when he was six years old.

Itinerary
Your 2-day trek to Jebel Toubkal promises a challenging yet rewarding adventure in the High Atlas Mountains. Here's a detailed overview of your itinerary:
Day 1: Transfer from Marrakech to Imlil and to Mountain Refuge
- Transfer from Marrakech:
- Depart from Marrakech after an early breakfast.
- Drive to Imlil, the starting point of your trek, with a journey of approximately 67 km to the southwest of Marrakech.
- Meet the Team:
- Upon arrival in Imlil, meet the trekking team, including an experienced mountain guide and muleteers who will handle luggage and equipment.
- Trek Start:
- Begin the trek through Berber villages, following a mule track.
- Pass by the shrine of Sidi Chamhrouch (2500m) and have lunch.
- Continue to the Refuge:
- After lunch, continue the trek towards the mountain refuge at an altitude of 3200m.
- The trek duration is approximately 5 hours.
- Accommodation:
- Overnight stay at the mountain refuge.
Day 2: Trek to The Summit of Jebel Toubkal & Return to Imlil and Marrakech
- Early Summit Attempt:
- Early morning ascent to the summit of Jebel Toubkal, the highest peak in Northern Africa.
- Traverse the south cirque, crossing the stream above the refuge.
- Scenic Views:
- Enjoy breathtaking views along the ascent, with vistas extending from the Marrakesh Plain to the High Atlas in the north and the Anti-Atlas and Sahara in the south.
- Summit Achievement:

TYPICAL MEALS:
- Breakfast consists of tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter, jam, cheese, and sometimes porridge in the winter and cereal in the summer.
- Picnic lunch consists of fresh Moroccan salad, cheese, sausage slices, canned tuna fish and sardines, bread, fruit, and mint tea.
- Dinner consists of Tajine (vegetable-based chicken or mutton), spaghetti, cous cous, bread, coffee, tea, cake, and fruit.
Equipment needed for valley treks:
- Sturdy walking boots and socks or good trainers;
- personnel first aid kit;
- three to four season sleeping bag (winter) or light sleeping bag (summer);
- crampons, ice axes, and gaiters for winter treks (November to April);
- lightweight, waterproof over-trousers or rain pants;
- soft-sided bag (50–80 liters);

- towel and all personal toiletries
